PRÓLOGO – THE ROAD TO NO MAN’S LAND
Azrael 47- 49: Azrael trata de evitar que un tal Nicholas Scratch haga de la destrozada Gotham su cortijo. Tristemente casi todas las series de este prólogo no son un verdadero prólogo de No Man’s Land, si no de los siguientes cómics de Azrael que será el que se encargue de Scratch.
Detective Comics 727-729: Tras quedar Gotham destrozada por un terremoto, Robin y Nightwing tratan de evitar que una serie de supervillanos de tercera tratan de saquear la ciudad.
Batman 560-562 – Mr Wayne goes to Washington: Bruce Wayne trata de evitar que el gobierno de EEUU abandone Gotham, mientras se explica la relación entre los villanos de tercera que saquean Gotham y Nicholas Scratch. Pasando.
Estas tres series vienen a ser algo parecido a la despedida de la vieja guardia del personaje, porque no dejamos de estar hablando de gente como Jim Aparo, Chuck Dixon o el propio O’Neil. No son grandes historias pero sí que sirven como introducción para que la gente sepa que es lo que pasó para llegar a Tierra de Nadie. Sin embargo, al que le interese saber cómo se llegó a todo esto tendría que leerse un año entero de Batman y el evento Terremoto (Cataclysm) más Aftershock, los cuales no recomiendo y tampoco pienso hacer de ellos una guía de lectura; el problema fundamental del Batman de los 90 estuvo precisamente en que encadenaron demasiados eventos mediocres o directamente malos.
Shadow of the Bat 80, 81 y 82: Alan Grant y Mark Buckingham nos cuentan como se lía parda en Arkham. Historia muy recomendable y una de las pequeñas joyas olvidadas dentro de todo el revuelo que supuso esta saga.
